Disclaimer: Please note that while there are multiple positive "therapeutic effects" derived from participation in our programs - such as improved well-being, stress reduction, relaxation, relationship building and much, much more, our Weekly Horsemanship Programs do not offer any type of formal therapy, we have no Mental Health Professionals on our staff and our facility is not a therapy clinic in any way or form. Programs strive to facilitate improved re-integration into civilian and family life as participants benefit from a horse-human bond and overcome personal obstacles through the natural environment that is a horse farm with all its earthy, natural and straightforward learning possibilities.
GroundworkHorsemanship sessions include developing progressive understanding of and safety around horses & interpreting horse behavior; effective horse handling, leading & in-hand grazing; horse grooming & care.
There is a specific task & goal oriented progression to the sessions, building on the foundation of safety & understanding of the equines, advancing in groundwork such as natural horsemanship techniques, lungeing & round penning. Learning new skills, working together and partnering with these majestic animals have incredibly positive effects on all participants and volunteers and this is what our programs are all about. |
