Barn & Farm Activities
Farm upkeep missions for those who are interested in physical activities could include stall, barn & pasture maintenance tasks,
riding arena upkeep,
forest trail clearing and
other equestrian facility care needs.
S/Sgt. "Mike" Moretti Stables - under renovation & in need of TLC inside & out - come and be a part of this mission.
Horsemanship sessions include developing progressive understanding of and safety around horses & interpreting horse behavior; effective horse handling, leading & in-hand grazing; horse grooming & care;
There will be a specific task & goal oriented progression to the sessions, building on the foundation of safety & understanding of the equines, advancing in groundwork such as natural horsemanship techniques, lungeing (pictured) & round penning.
Lessons may include developing horseback riding skills on the walk, trot & canter - dependent on each individual participant's goals.
Most lessons will be taught in the large outdoor arena, or in the indoor facility if the weather requires, with possibilities for open field and trail rides for participants who progress to advanced levels.
NJ is a no-fault state for all equestrian activities (NJ Statute 15)
A body weight limit applies for riding dependent upon horse size.
